Welcome to my Part 2 of my Social Media Guide to become a successful influencer. This post is all about how to price your collaborations. Now obviously, the more likes, followers & comments you have, the higher the rate.
I've collectively looked at how other influencers price their post, & have noticed that some people are either charging too much, or charging too little. Based on past collaborations with other brands, influencers, & all things via the internet, I've determined that influencers are paid anywhere from 5-9 cents per like per post. However, it's not just the amount of likes that translate into sales. You also have to look at the engagement per post & quality of your content.
The key of creating quality sponsored posts is to make them NOT look like an ad. The better quality your photos are, the less they look like ads, the more engagement you will receive leading to more success for the brand. This can create a positive loop for the both of you. As well as continued collaborations with the brand.
Having said, I've made a equation for you to determine how much you should make per Instagram post:
Influencer Instagram Post Equation:
# of Average Likes x .05-.09 = Amount paid per post
If you average 1,000 likes x .05-.09 = $50 - $90 per post.
Which percentage you charge is up to you. I usually charge a happy medium of by using .07 x my # of average likes. You want the brand to be comfortable that what they are paying is a just price. However, use your best judgement for what you feel is a reasonable rate.
Don't be afraid to cut brands a deal on multiple posts. For instance, If a brand wants to purchase 2 Instagram post, I usually charge the first post at full price, than charge the 2nd half price.
But try to put a limit on how many posts per month you are giving out to the same company for discounted rates. Mainly because you could sell the extra spots that you gave as a discount for full price to somebody else.
Anyway! I hope this posts helps you evaluate what you should be charging per Instagram post!
